Does anyone know? Did MOCO fix the tranny whine for '08?

 

I have an 08 Road Glide with about 450 miles, no noise so far and I am looking for it, very smooth shifting.

Don't quote me on this, but according to H-D customer service the only '08 change is a different compensator, engine/tranny wise. This may just be the answer to a disgruntled '07 owner.If the '08's sound like my '07, H-D is in a heap of trouble.

 

I have 300 miles on my 08 RK, the only tranny noise is when I shift from second to first while slowing down, and that is a very slight whine. No noise at all when accellerating or cruising in any gear. Perhaps the new rear drive system has something to do with the quieter ride!

 

I rode an '08 Street Glide yesterday for about an hour and heard no noise except a bit of whine in first gear like all Harleys.
I can't compare with a 'noisy' '07 because my '07 Heritage doesn't have any of the drive train noise that I see new forum members complain about. I don't personally know any disgruntled '07 owners.
I think HD is doing just fine.
