Default Advan Black Chopped Tour Pak ?

I am looking to get a painted Advan Black Chopped Tour Pak for my SGS. Won't be on much but I plan on taking a few trips this summer. I was looking at the HD chopped tour pak matching my bike and just the shell alone is north of a grand. Add the hinges, latch, back rest, etc. and it's pricey. I am looking at an Advan Black tour pak for around $800. That includes the back rest, hinges and latch. I am interested in other riders experience with Advan Blacks tour paks. Good quality? Matching paint? Thanks.

Never heard any bad things about advanblack. I’ve seen a few people say they think it’s better than HD stuff.

I have exactly what you're considering purchasing and yes, II'd recommend them. Paint was perfect. I also have their lowers.

if you're getting a color other than vivid black, i don't see the value in going advan over hd. the only benefit is that with the advan you can get the mounting rack and backrest included. but there is nothing that would stop you from getting the aftermarket mount and backrest pad. i've got a quote from one of the discounters for a king tour pack for $706, painted in industrial grey denim.

Which discounter is that? My wife works at a dealership and with her generous discount a king wicked red with latches, backrest, and the liner is almost a grand

Just the tour pack, silver flux, chopped, from shopHarleyUtah is $807. That's no hinges, latches, liner, backrest and mount. Advan Black, I can get all of that for $910 with a 5% discount.

You say the hinges and latches aren't included but in the P&A catalog it says they are. The lock kit is not included but it's like $43. Maybe you mean if you want gloss black latches and hinges that's extra, but on some of the painted offerings it may come with those, that I don't know.

I priced this all out last year and didn't see a huge advantage with going Advanblack if you are getting the tour pak painted (as someone already mentioned). Some of the reviews on YouTube show lower prices for the Advanblack than what I priced out, I don't know if they've raised their prices since those reviews or what.

I bought the H-D Rushmore chopped TP a while back for my 13 King and the only thing I had to get extra was the keyed lock and backrest pad. I got the primed TP and my painter painted it. The paint is perfect and when all said and done, total was shy of 10 Benjies.

I find the aftermarket brands of TP and saddlebags are a bit thinner in material as compared to the H-D, so that was a consideration for me. Others find the other brands suits them fine though.
