I have a clear pair of them from Memphis Shades, they do make a differance. Easy on/off too, I have a short factory summer windshield and a tall one from Freedom Shields for the winter, takes about 15 minutes to swap the windshield and put the handguards on. Being clear, they are unnoticable from a few feet away.

Yes mine are memphis shades. Bought em new on fleabay for $21.00. I didnt like the crappy finish on them and I had some other parts going to the powdercoater so I had him do a better gloss black coat on them.

[QUOTE=09 YELLOWBIRD;19615638]Eight or more years now with mine on. Color matched with the Fastest Color!
Heated gloves, heated grips, and hand guards make a lot of difference. What's really crazy is how much chit actually hits them!

I'm sure that they are utilitarian but never the less what has not been stated is they are a bit on the obtrusive side and you can argue that all day long if you like. Then again I hate to ride in the rain too and if I have a choice won't.
At my age anymore I am a fair weather rider and mostly chose to ride in temperatures not much lower than my age, FWIW. lol
