I use the tinted National Cycle hand guards. Most riders do not even notice them as the blend in so well and are transparent.

I've used handsguards since my Adventure Motorcycle days and I was too stupid to know their benefits before that.

when moving, they keep all wind and rain off your hands/gloves.

you can wear much thinner gloves and be comfortable.

it allows my heated grips to work great down to about 37F, below that for long rides, heated gloves are better, but short rides, say an half hour or less are fine.

I chose the National Cycle as they are almost invisible. My original plan was to remove them for the summer in that first spring. But I enjoy wearing light perforated leather gloves and I am too comfortable leaving them on. Bugs, stones, rain never hit my hands.

The style probably doesn't matter, but if you tour or cruise long distances, I have a hard time thinking that you won't enjoy their benefits. If your bike is all about show, they'll probably be too ugly.

Ill see if I can find a photo what shows you how invisible they are.
Not the best photo, but it does show how hard to see they are.

Can't help but think it's funny to put tall bars on your bike to where your hands are exposed and then turn around and complain about wind and gravel hitting your hands 😂😂😂

Although I wasn't complaining, I hope your drivel made you feel better about yourself.

Road King, standard windshield. Mounted a set in hope of keeping hands warmer. The mirrors deflect the wind down on my hands even with the deflectors in place, no improved hand comfort for temperature. Electric gloves are what did the trick. The deflectors do protect from bugs and rocks. Used to hit a few grasshoppers, June bugs etc in Oklahoma every summer, now they splat on the deflectors. I agree, they look kind of silly but going 80 mph into a 30 mph wind and get a grasshopper on the knuckles will make the silly appearance not so important.

One thing about having a nice bike is that there are many out there that are much nicer. I chose long ago to just be me.

Thanks for the photo.
