Default Need a luggage rack for my Road Glide

Not having too much luck. I have the Stealth rack from my Street Glide but obviously I can't use it on the RG because of the plate location. Still haven't found a cost effective way to do that yet. There is another thread already on that subject. I was looking at the HD one that attaches to the backrest. No dice because I have the short upright. Same with the Motherwells. Don't really want to go with the HD detachable one because personally I think it is ugly. And that also means more money for docking hardware and having to relocate my antenna. It is beginning to look like I am SOL. Anyone have any other ideas???

Forget the rack, put a chopped tour pak on it.

MM - Have you checked into using a license plate bracket off a SG? That's what I was planning on doing when my temp permit runs out.

Do what I did. I replaced the antenna with a powered one that I put in the inner fairing and now no antenna to interfere with the luggage rack.

Here's a picture with the luggage rack and no antenna.

ROLLNTIGER: Which rack is that???

Biggzed: I could use the license plate bracket off of the SG but then I have no way to light the plate. That involves more money and figuring out how to wire it. Also I have a license plate that is longer than normal size and it would cover half of the emblem on the rear fender. Might be the only way.

gunrunner: Nope. My Kuryakyn Full Dresser holds twice as much as a chopped tour pak. And I can take it off and inside wherever we are staying.

MM - Can't you light the plate the same way a SG does, use the SG tailight lens.

Rollntiger - I don't think that luggage rack will work on a short upright sissy bar like MM said he has. I have the same rack and really like it.

It's the detach that mounts to the backrest. One whole piece.
