Sounds like you may have over-filled during your last oil change. Your situation is very common when putting too much oil into the engine.

"Thats normal" according to every single issue there is with a harley.Get used to seeing lots of oil, hearing lots of noise, rattles and everything else. Haven't you ever noticed how alot of the guys kinda do what they call the "low wave"? They are actually pointing down to each other's oil leaks or parts falling off and letting you know not to slide out or run over them....

Serious...it's probably too full of oil. You can't overfill them at all.If you'll leave it 1/4 to 1/3 quart low, it usually won't do that....at least notas bad anyway

Keep the oil level half way between the full and low oil marks - then, your problem should not recur.

Pretty common. Harley still hasn't mastered crank case ventilation. Sometimes it's because you're over full on oil .... other times it just happens. My '01 Ultra used to do it all the time at 80+ MPH after a while. My '06 hasn't done it (yet). Back in the day ... we'd unhook that crap and let it blow to the ground. If your lucky enough to have a bike that becomes chronic, there are aftermarket breather "fix" kits.

do a search here on oil misting. lots of discussions and fixes. i agree with the folks here. leave the oil down on the dipstick around 1/2 way. usually takes care of the problem. there are other causes, but this is the most common.

First off it is the nature of the beast all engines mist oil.Like you have read, it may be too much oil in pan,a vent line is off or broken, without actually seeing the bike it is hard to figure it out.
