Which Makes a Better Tourer - Road Glide or Street Glide?
By Brett Foote

While they share a platform, the Street Glide and Road Glide are very distinct bikes.

I went for the SG due to the lower seat height. I also prefer the look of the Batwing Fairing.

Really comes down to which styling a rider prefers. I've owned both and personally enjoy the Road Glide platform much more. The fairing offers better wind management and for taller riders it feels roomier.

Can't go wrong with either one though.

I like the look towards the RG better but prefer the view from the SG more.

Ride them both and then decide. They both have their pros and cons. The wind buffeting is different. With the SG, you fight the wind with the handle bars. With the RG, you balance into it. You will find people that prefer each. No one can tell you which you will like better. If you're buying new, then you're talking about spending the better part of $30K. Spend a few hundred bucks to rent each for a day, and then decide. Then try to get the dealer to credit the rental cost towards your new bike.
