Default Aftermarket CB Whip Antenna

Is anyone aware of a good aftermarket CB antenna?

I have been using the older/classic 4 foot Harley whip antennas but I break one on average every two years and they are increasingly harder to find and my last one just broke Tuesday and is laying on the side of the road somewhere in Colorado. So, I am wondering if there is a good aftermarket antenna out there. I have tons of the stock ones and shorties but the CB performs better with the 4 foot antennas.

How do you keep breaking them? My bike is a 2014 and I haven't broken one yet.

Did you have to tune to larger whip antennae?

The 4' whips are bottom loaded and there is a short piece of antenna between that and the mount point on the bike. I guess over time, they stress right there and with all the waving about the antenna does, it eventually stress fractures.

I did, yes. I use the CB heavily and wanted the best SWR that I could manage.

American Radio Supply has a selection of stainless steal whip antennas in lengths through at least 60" and the needed mounting hardware. I have never had one fatigue and break I would recommend the coil spring mount but that is your option. .

A lot of guys in the group I ride with are going to the Firestick antenna and they are getting much better range than the Harley whips.

Under the rubber boot is a coil spring, and the bottom load is basically a coil spring as well, the break is happening between the two. Both springs are pretty stiff though and I bet that that section of aerial is probably the weakest point.

Could you ask if they are running an adapter to mount that antenna? The base screw size on the Harley is a M6 thread and the fire sticks that I have found use a 3/8"x24 thread.
