And my service manager tells me the '08 ABS can't be retrofit to an '08; the bike must beassembled with the ABSsystem.

You can add the abs system used since 05 on police bikes to a 07, but the 08 system is a totally different system. Ive seen the cop abs systems on ebay, or try some of the bike salvage yards.

The 08 ABS/Brembo system is totally different for any prior ABS. Harley use special (read expensive) magnetically encoded bearings, and the wheel/bearingrotation is picked up by a magnetic prox sensor. Sensoron the front wheel & rear wheel is monitored by the brain box, and compared to road speed.

Slick system. If the ABS module ever fails,Harley installs a new one that comes prefilled from the factory. New unit (as well as the unit that came on the bike) must bebled using the Digital Technician II ... no way to do this without the DTII.

If you look closely at the dash of 07 FLH's you can see an ABS symbol, I would not be surprised to see it offered...

I have a 2006 Street Glide and noticed on the fuse box the other for 2 positions for "ABS". Wonder why Harley would do that. Can anyone say retrofit in the future?

Not if they can get schmucks like us to keep buying new. I've got an '07 Ultra and I'd like the abs also. They must have made an '07 police abs system. Anyone know about that?
