Default pipe cleaning

I'm sooooooooo mad at myself. Thought I was being careful wtih my new fatcat pipes and noticed this morning that I must have gotten bottom of boot on the hot pipes. Any tips for getting boot marks off of the pipes. My father in law suggested using tin foil--sounds as if it would scratch..

use nevrdull wadding...that and elbow grease works like a charm.

do NOT use tin foil.

you gotta expect you're going to get some boot marks on your pipes anyway.

Ya have to wait for the pipes to cool off first, then use bug and tar remover. It is pretty much likechrome polishand you can buy it at the auto parts store, Wal-Mart or other auto maintenance store. I would avoid the polish that ya squeeze out of a tube though.

Also, I agree the neverdull works great, but in a pinch on cool pipes. Spray WD40 on it and let it soak, usually desolves the mess. I have also been told oven cleaner works well to...

Just remember that Easy Off will harm the paint! I have used STEEL WOOL grade 0000 (must be 4 0's) There was a post on this just a day or two ago. Some say used a nickel since it is softer than chrome, but I don't know if I would go that far. Also mentioned was lighter fluid. Bug and Tar remover. Along with Easy off's Majic Eraser!

Steel wool here as well. I use it all the time on my V&H's for removing anything that does not come off with general cleaning. Leaves them looking like new
