Any 08 ultra owners yet?

RE: Any 08 ultra owners yet?
I can give you my early review of the Ultra. I moved from a Deluxe and test drove a few 07s before deciding on the 08. About 300 miles on it so far. Both city and highway.
- Smooth ride once it gets going. Took a bit to get used to the shake at idle, but the ride more than makes up for it.
- Shifts much more smoothly than my Deluxe and the 07 Ultra I tried.
- Good power - very linear throttle response. Much improved power over the 88.
- Handles remarkably well. Inspires confidence. It feels more nimble and planted than my Deluxe.
- Fit and finish is outstanding
- This thing is heavy. The fact that it's also much taller than my Deluxe makes backing out of my garage and down the steep driveway an experience. I need to lower the seat. I need a couple of inches. Have already emailed Allen at Mean City Cycles
- I don't notice it being any hotter than my Deluxe, but my legs are closer to the pipes and transmission at stops, so I notice the heat then. It's been in the low 90s here. I've had no problem with heat.
- I don't notice 5th gear sounding any different than any of the other gears.
So far, so good. I really like the bike. The real test will be from folks that are much more familiar with the 07 than I.

After 600 miles.
Shifting- extremely smooth
Heat- comparable to 88"
Trans noise- no whining any gear
Power- (IMO) has more power than my 95" bb
Brakes- no noticable difference
Sound- Stock pipes stink
Seat- no azz burn yet
Vibration at idle- seems the same as 07's
Throttle- barely noticable difference. Perhaps a little more responsive.
So far, I can't find anything wrong. But I keep looking.

Unfortunately though I wonder if that means us 07 owners are going to have our resale value hurt on account of it being labeled the dud year on the new engine/tranny.
I just can not recommend an 07 touring model on account of the 5th gear whine. In my opinion, whatever mo co's motivation for making 5th gear different, a HD shouldn't sound like that whether it's bad for it or not, and they plain screwed up.
