Default Super Trapp Slip om baffles

Can you change baffles on the Super Trapp slip-ons? Mine sound great around town, but are hidious and punishing at cruise.

They sound like a jack-hammer, even the riders behind me thought they sounded like crap, not too loud, just the painful sound/noise.

I thought a change to a quieter baffle might tame the beast a bit.

Not on the SE's, which end cap do you have? Not that it would make alot of difference.

I have the billet with the circles. I know the dealer modified the left side baffles with Mikuni baffles.

I'm running a set of S E Touring Performance mufflers with billeted tips (same as the Supertrapp S E's)and couldn' t agree with you more; also wondering if changing the tips would change thejack hammer soundon cruise to something different;have heard that the turn down tips mightdo the trick.Lately I've been wearing ear plugs and considering a set of S E Touring Street mufflers orRush with the 1.75" baffle. Also would like to know what type of tips your running on your bike.

How many discs are you running in the SuperTrapps? I know more discs = more sound (more flow)

The Super Trapp slip ons don't use discs, thats another model. I;m using the HD billet end caps with the dual grooves. I'll go get a different end cap to see if it makes a difference this weekend.

As for modifying the left baffle, that was what they recommended, the receip says 1 Baffle Mikuni, perforated $89.

I'm hoping something can be done. The pipes are NOT too loud, the noise at cruise is just horrific, jackhammer like.

I just went through this, I had the Mikuni baffles and I know exactly what you are talking about I called Supertrapp and they siad to go with their H3 baffles and I did and they are perfect, very mellow and smooth, at cruise speed you can just here the motor purr. no harsh jack hammer head ache sound. They were $70 each from Supertrapp.
