Default Handlebar Height - Help Me Decide

Going to do new handlebars soon - LA Choppers Twin Peaks, but can’t decide the height.

Quick backstory...

I have a 2007 Electra Glide that looks more Street Glide-ish these days and really the only stock item left is the handlebars. I do have 2 seats I switch back and forth depending on where I’m riding; the stock Electra Glide seat that’s huuuuge and tall and comfortable but puts me rather high up on the bike and a Street Glide stock seat that I sit about 3” lower on the bike.

I’d say I run with the lower Street Glide seat 75% of the time.

With all the said and given that I’m about 6’3” with a 36” sleeve length, I’m torn between the 10” and 12”. I’ve ridden with both and like them both but I seriously can’t decide. Will I regret the 10” bars and wish I had gone 12” from the beginning?

I’ve ridden a couple buddies bikes with heights ranging from 8” to 16” and have narrowed it down to the 10” and 12”.

Help and convince me one way or the other.

PS - I’ll be doing all of the work/wiring mys

Matt, at 6'3" with a long reach you will prefer the taller bars. Go with the 12" handlebars.

I'm 5'9" and have 10" and they are perfect for me. At your height, I'd go with 12".

I would say go with a set of 14” bars, I’m 6’ tall and have KST 14” it’s really good height but wish I went with 16” bars

That's a general rule of thumb when choosing bars.... Decide what height would be perfect for you, then go two inches taller.

I agree with Steve N - whatever you're thinking, go taller! I'm 6'00", and, I had 16" on my RK - should've gone with 18" (from Hill Country). Then I bought my RG, got talked out of 18" - should've bought the 18". At 6'3", you might like 16"-18", even more.

I am also 6' tall and have 14" KST Spearhead bars and they are a perfect fit for me with an aftermarket seat. At 6'3" I can't imagine you would be happy with anything less than 14". 16" bars are probably the size to go with

Just go with the tallest bars you can find...but have a good orthopedic surgeon on call.

I went with 12's on both my bikes. Didn't have to change anything in the wiring or cables. They will feel a little low with your tall seat and better with the lo pro seat.
