Default Pull Front brake & no Brake light

Took my Electra Glide for a service today and they informed me that when pulling my front brake lever, my brake lights do not come on. Apparently I need to replace some unit at quite a cost. Any advice before I spend the money?

Purchased NEW or used. New could be a '14, '15, or even a '16. You give the appearance of avoiding the DETAILS, just like my wife. Also, have you done any work with the right side twist grip, brake lever, changed handle bars, or anything else involving wiring from the right side switch box? Without PRECISE DETAILS, folks will write you off as a troll.

More info would be nice - bike, year, what part?

When the same thing happened to my bike (2014 Road King) it was the right switch pack that was bad. I replaced it myself, upgraded both sides to the lighted ones, since they were only a few dollars more than the standard ones.

The part (R&L switch pack set) was about $250. A dealer will probably charge at least an hour labor. It is an easy DIY install for anyone with a set of Allen wrenches.
