New Battery Charging Time with a Battery Tender

DO IT THE RIGHT WAY....use a battery charger to charge and a battery tender to maintain/de-sulfate when you're not using the motorcycle. You didn't say where you bought the battery but no matter it should have been charged up for you before you walked out with it. The high volume sellers on the internet are usually ok because their inventory turns over very fast and their batteries seldom need a charge once installed.

If you have a new battery and your bike is working well, simply fit the battery and go for a decent ride - a tankful should do it! If on the other hand you have electrical problems to resolve, then by all means charge it fully. A modern good quality 'tender' should be perfectly capable of doing that overnight, although older versions may not.
