Default Powering a Zumo 450 in the car

I got the Garmin Zumo 450 last week and the only power cable that came with it is the one that hardwires to the bike and connects through the handlebar mount. Now I would obviously also like to use the Zumo in the car and I don't really want to buy the Garmin suction cup automobile mount. Garmin's website suggests that I need to buy it, but I can't tell for sure from their pictures. Can I plug either the 12V or the AC charger directly into the Zumo without having to deal with the mount?

for the 12 volt you'll need the mount. for the A/C if i remember correctly, you can use the USB connector to power it (plus the inverter i suppose). but what are you going to mount it to?

The car mount has a built in speaker, plus the suction cup mount.

BG Weasel,
I havethe Zumo 450 and I went to Radio Shack and bought a cigatette lighter plug and wired it to the motorcycle power cord, I didn't want to hardwire it to my bike. That way I can use the power cord in my truck and my 06 FLHT/I . I still had to buy the suction cupauto mount for my truck. I ordered the auto mount and the Zumo 450 from www.gpscity.com

UPDATE:
Thanks for the GPS city link. I'm just going to order another MC power cable from them and stick a lighter plug on the end and move mount and all back and forth. I haven't found that bike power cable available anywhere else.

Thanks. To answer the questions..

1. What will I mount it to? I have a spare Ram mount that I can rig upin the car. Is it pretty? No. Functional? Yes. I just need to get power to the unit.

2. I've already wired it to the bike. I thought about going with a plug arrangement on the it, but I decided against it because I always seem to develop eventual connection problems when I plug something in on the bike.

When I plug my computer into the Zumo's USB connection it goes into mass storage mode. Does anybody know if that will happen if I plug a power cable into that jack?
