How is a SERT downloaded to the ECM

RE: How is a SERT downloaded to the ECM
Never mind. Just called a service department rep from a different dealership than where I bought my bike and I guess you don't have to use the CD that comes in the box with the Race Tuner you purchase. According to him they have CD's laying around that they use rather than the one that comes with your Race Tuner. If any other newbie to SERT's wonders this when they look in their box the tuner comes in and sees that the seal on the CD in there has never been broken...now you'll know. I've read where some dealerships don't give you the tuner. Mine did, so kudo's to them for this. They voluntarily gave me the option to take it with me or leave it with them.

If you've got the race tuner, (cables and interface) you can get rid of the decel popping by increasing the "Decel Enleanment" values. If the dealer simply loaded a map from the factory disc, you'll be able to tell which Map they installed when you connect to the ECM and go thru the steps to load the revised map. Just write down the file # and save any changes you make under a new file number. That way you'll always be able to go back.
My '06 Ultra with A/C and Sampsom slipons popped and carried on after the dealer put in a canned map. Changed these numbers and sounds great now. Even an idiot like me can do it.
The CD that came with the tuner has all of the HD canned MAPs.
Install the program from the CD and read the manual! It ain't that hard and could save you big bucks.
