Happened when I did mine too. One of your internal tumblers in your ignition is probably out of alignment. There are a few ways to fix it...1) there are tools that you can get on Amazon that will fix it in about 10 seconds. Problem is that you have to wait for it and spend about $50. 2) there is a video on YouTube that shows you how to create one using some copper pipe. I tried and couldn’t make it work, but I’m not super mechanically inclined. 3) what worked for me finally (have patience, they will align) was to use a couple flathead screwdrivers that were different sizes. The smaller one aligned the inner tumblers and the bigger one the outer.

Here's the video they speak of. I had similar issue and made the copper tool as well, works every time!

A bit of help
Just saw this, STOP. I had this happen last week when I did my bars(you can search my post on KST Spearheads) Anyhow start by just pulling out the ignition, then pull the ignition housing 2 allen bolts and 1 connector. Then install your ignition switch and move it back n forth just a bit until it seats down completely. I cannot explain why, but mine would not seat until I pulled the ignition housing unit out the then put the ignition switch w/rod back in, again cannot tell you why but it seated right back in place. Then reinstalled the entire assembly. I just bought this set the has the Torx you need if you have to completely pull it apart $19.00 shipped from Flea Bay LOL
