Default isolated drive system sprocket

on page 461 of the 08 catalog, is a new isolated drive system sprocket ....it looks very much like the stock system on the v-rod...has anyone bought one yet? maybe its the answer to some of the problems on the 07s...

I,ve seen and used that type of drive system on industrial machinery for decades. Like anything else it will wear out and cause problems. I, for one, would not have one if the gave me one. That is a problem waiting to happen. That is a band-aid to cover up other problems. IMO Dan

all the v-rods have them and they perform flawlessly....they are also called cush-drives....i guess as usual, ill have to be a guniea pig....i just hope they might reduce the transmission noise...

How is the cush-drive, which is installed on the back wheel going to quiet the noise in the transmission. Maybe I could see it if it was chain drive but I doubt the belt transmits much noise. I'm probably wrong, usually am.

some mobile 1 75/140 gear oil makes the tranny a lot quieter too. surely cheaper than the cush-drive

The belt is your cush drive! Run a little more RPM thru each gear.

ive owned 2 v-rods and some of the v-rod owners, eliminated their cush drive in order to have a better selection of wheels....some of these owners, noticed an increased vibration in their drive train and more noise....i think that this may be one of the mocos attempts to deal with the 07s drivetrain issues.. i wont know until i try it, i guess...my opinion, anyway..

I firmly believe the device will quiet down everything in the drivetrain "backwards" to the crank and that HD has incorporated it for just that reason (possibly in addition to or in conjunction with reduced shock loads throughout). Complaints about the '07s may be a factor but it had more likely already been in the pipeline for EPA noise emissions reasons. Every little bit helps.
