Default Lowering front

Hi guys. I have a 2012 streetglide 18” rear tire and 19” front tire with 13” 944 progressive suspension. They say the progressive suspension lowers you an inch. Is that an inch more then stock so 2” lower or the same as the original 1” lower. Confused. I’m about to replace my front suspension with legends or ohlins and want the geometry of the bike to work the best. They both sell standard height or 1” lower. Like to go 1” lower for looks but don’t want to sacrifice the geometry too much. Thank you in advance. A lot of people on these forums have been a lot of help

944 shocks are 12 inch. 1 inch lower for an Electra Glide, but stock height for a Street Glide. Unless you have the Ultra Low 944. Those are 2" shorter than an Electra Glide and 1" shorter than a Street Glide. I run the 944 on the back and Progressive Monotubes at stock height in the front. Had them on my 11EGC and moved them over to my 12FLTRXSE. There's a set of 1 inch lower Monotubes in the classifieds. I really like mine.

Generally speaking standard height rear refers to 13" shocks and lowered versions are measured from this.

So to get the best geometry I should get the 1” lowered cartridge for the front. Correct?

So to get the best geometry I should get the 1” lowered cartridge for the front. Correct? That way the whole bike will be lowered an inch from what the engineers started out with for the chassis.

Well, they (engineers) didn't lower the front of the Street Glide compared to the Electra Glide. I don't think it makes any noticable difference. You're already at the "stock" geometry.

well, if you want to get uber technical, that 18'' rear tire does raise the rear a little bit also (about 3/8''). so you've raised the rear, then lowered the rear.

either way, the geometry is not going to suffer noticeably between the standard monotubes, vs the lowered ones. you may like the look better, it may give you a little more reach to the ground, but you probably won't notice a difference in the ride. due to the geometry that is.

Default Legend Revo A Shocks

I’ve just gotten a set of Legend Revo A 13”
they ride awesome but it jacked me up higher than I wanted. I’m thinking about getting the 12” and selling these 13” I also have a 1” lowering block that I may try first to lower bike a inch see if that helps. I’ve heard both sides you can use the block with Legends some say you can’t. Does anyone know or have you done it. Spend 925.00 for a set of shocks that may not of been what I should of gotten. I was thinking SG stock were 13” but found out i was wrong since stock is 12”. I’m going to try the block in the morning see what happens. Any advice. Thanks

with the 12'' stock rg shocks, there was little to no compression (sag) when i sat on the bike. with the 13'' legends, there is an inch of sag, which puts me at the 12'' height that i got with the hd shocks, +/- 1/4''

Hey jim bob if u would be interested in trading my progressive 944 ul 13” with some cash I would definitely be down. They sit 1” lower then normal 13” shocks with all the travel. Also have the standard and heavy duty springs for them. Standard is under 250 lbs and hd is 250-350 lbs. can install whichever one you prefer and give you the others as well. Let me know how you make out.
