I'd be curious to see how this is done as well. I ran into the same thing. Luckily though, it just rubbed the clear and didn't get through the paint yet.

I’ll try and find the post on it.... only pics I got of mine, setting on the rack in the garage. Jut mounted it under the two front tourpak’s nuts. I used Velcro straps laced thru the slots to secure the harness on top of the “shelf” and away from the fender... got the idea from others here.

made a quickie template using thin stuff first to check measurements and placement with first. Be sure to leave a recessed area in the middle of the front edge so you can easily get to the seat screw.

Also check post 18 here, their talking about removing the shelf off the factory mounting bracket and putting it on the QD bracket... I’ve got the factory one in the attic, but never have checked it out or tried to move it over.

Mine is a quick release but truthfully, it is just too handy not to have on than to take it off.

There are some interesting ideas being discussed about the TourPak wiring and how to secure it best.

I plan to do it like post #15 in this thread:

Simple and effective. I may do the same.

I installed the kit today. I used a stubby antenna from Craven speed. I am fine with the turn signal relocation kit and license plate.

I blacked out my exhaust too. I already had a street glide seat.

This worked in my case - you may as well use and the modify the stock bracket. Either way you will need to come up with something to keep the harness of the paint, so just be aware.
As for the HD kit and the bag mounted lighting and the license plate bracket. I did away with both by going to a CVO styled fender set up. IMO in cleaned up the rear end nicely.

I already have a piece of plexi-glass laying around. I'm going to borrow your idea and manufacture a similar piece. Looks good.
