Default Best Touring Modle for the buck

Okay, I currently ride an 05 SuperGlide that I really like for the around town stuff. Beginning to look at a bagger because my wife prefers a slightly more plush / protected ride, plus I want to be able to carry enough stuff for a long weekend. Soliciting opinions on the best buy for the buck touring HD. Not sure if I will keep the SG so this bike may also serve as the around town hopper. I will tell you I am leaning to an Electra Glide Classic. Cost is not a driver, but I don't want to spend if it doesn't add value.

Thanks in advance...Todd

Best bang for the buck IMO is the classic and just add thecruise control option. But I ride a Road Glide, go figure.

This is what I did. Got the eg classic.Absolutely knew I had no use for intercom, rear speakers, and cb. Liked the more streamline look as well(no funny lookin lights on back&smooth tank hood). Went and installed cruise and lowers.

This is just me though.

I personally found the Electra Glide Classic to have all I needed in a tourer. The Ultra had a lot of options I did not need or want so I got the EGC and added cruse control and we are very happy with our decision.

I ride solo and the EG Classic has everything I need except Cruise Control. If you are going to ride a lot with your wife, the Ultra might be a good option. She is sure to like the intercom and rear stereo speakers.

I love my Ultra and am glad I paid the extra bucks to go that route. But if it's about the money probably the best touring bike for the bucks is a Gold Wing, I just didn't happen to like it.
