When I went looking for a Bagger, I found that the MOST comfy for me was the Road Glide.
Good bang for buck.
The solution is to find the one that you can ride mile after mile w/ wo lady and still be comfortable.
One year and 15,000 mi. later and I love it.

Get the Ultra. Nothing to add, the rear speakers are nice, and your wife will love you for it. My last three have been Ultra's. Even I don't use all the extras, but I know they're there.

Any touring bike is great. One thing to consider is your use to the narrow glide front end. Moving to a fat tire bike with more weightanda bat-wing is a big change. I as well went from a Dyna-Glide to an FLT and decided to go with the Road King. I plan to move to a EGC for my next bike but I like this bike so well it's hard to tell when I will.May I suggest renting one of each for a day and make your decision from your own experience. Spending a couple of hundred dollars to determine your preference is much cheaper than wishing you had gotten something different after you buy one.

i think the rent and test drive each model for a day is an excellent idea if ya got the bucks. I wonder if you talked to the sales manager if he would roll the cost or at least 50% of it into your buying price if purchased from him

The Classic is a Great value. IF you dont want the extras of the Ultra.

1. Lowers
2. Intercom
3. CB
4. Trunk mounted brake/turn lights
5. rear speakers
6. Cruise control.

BTW, The rear speakers are not just for passengers, they do add considerably to the drivers audio.

If it were me, I would get the Classic, add the cruise, and put Hog-tunes speakers on the back. Perhaps add the trunk mounted spoiler/brake light, and save the 1000 bucks for other things I want. Perhaps a better seat/backrest, Stage 1, pipes etc.

Get the Ultra Classic.
I have had my 2007 softail deluxe for almost two months. During a recent1200 mile road tripwith my wife, we came to realize that weare more interested inthe touringexperience than the esthetics or modelwe drive. We really like our softail deluxe, but willtrade it and purchase an Ultra Classic before the next riding season.

hmm best for the buck is the one that makes you stand in the garage and stare at it when your not riding or cleaning or wrenching. It has to function for you but in the end it has to excite you too.
