Yesterday was a bit of a disappointment. I went and looked at the 3 bikes I was interested in. After riding all 3 - the two 2014s and the 2011 I was convinced that the 2014 was worth the extra money. No surprise as that is what most of you have told me on this forum. The one 2014 was out because the PO had installed too loud of pipes for my tastes and the seller wasn't welling to move off his asking price of $13,400. The other 2014 with 19K miles that I liked was for sale for $13,500. The heated grips were not working, the bike needed new tires, oil change and the brake fluid was over due for service. I offered $12K and the seller said he was firm @ $13,500. So I will keep looking I would think in this economy something will come up. Interesting both of the 2014s have been for sale on CL and or Cycle Trader for over 70 days but neither seller seemed that motivated? Good news I have ruled out anything older than 2014.

ill take some heat for this given the fact that we are on a Harley forum, but — it sounds like you managed to find some “typical Harley owners.” the ones who believe “I put my @$$ in the seat for 3k miles so the value is now triple and buyers are lucky I’m even allowing these peasants to cast their eyes on my bike and pay my full unrealistic asking price.”

It is a buyer’s market, and you need to find a motivated seller who wants to be realistic about the value of their bike and want to actually sell it.

I’ve mentioned in previous post on this forum, but I bought a 2015 road king for $7k in December 2019. I helped my riding buddy find a 2014 street glide and negotiated the price down to $9K. I’ve seen a few 2018 Electra glide police models for $10,995 at dealerships... you can get a lot of bike for $12k right now (since you offered that amount, I’m assuming that is your budget). Keep looking. Check Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, Cycle Trader, etc. everyday. Make offers. Don’t be afraid to send a low offer as long as you provide some context / dialogue with the offer. The deals are out there. Don’t lose faith.

I'm also interested in a 2014 with 16K miles the current owner is asking $13,500. Is this bike worth $3500 more? I know they made some upgrades to the 2014 model but still the same 103 motor.

Both bikes are located in Southern California.

Thanks
friend of mine selling his 12 UL for 9k.... 14000 miles... or at least trying.... so many out there hard to do sometimes.... single owner , condition and records are the key for me.. even more than price
