Fused Lo Handlebars alignment 2020 RGS
Hi all, long-time rider and reader of these forums. 99.9% of the time I find the answers I'm looking for on this forum straight away, but not this time. I just took delivery of a 2020 RGS in Scorched Orange, and I had a lot of upgrades done as part of the deal. One of the upgrades I had installed was the Fused Lo handlebars which came out in the Jan 2020 P&A supplement. When I took delivery, I immediately noticed the bars were pulled back and the hand controls were angled downward. I mentioned this to the tech who did the upgrades, and he stated that the pin in the handlebar mount would not allow the bars to go any farther forward. Ok, what about rotating the controls to level then? I asked. He stated those could not be rotated any further forward either. So I rode it for a few hundred miles to see if it would be ok like this. I can live with the bars pulled back, but the hand controls are a big problem. Constantly taking my eyes off the road to search for a button that is not in the right place, and the brake/clutch levers are too high and keep the wrists bent at an awkward angle.
Does anyone else have experience with these bars on a Road Glide? I'm having a hard time getting my brain wrapped around the idea that bars specifically made for the bike can't be installed in an ergonomically correct position. If you have these bars, did you have the same problems? How did you correct? Dealership (Cowboy's Alamo City) said they will make it right, but short of swapping out the bars what is the fix - remove the pins in the bar mount and/or hand controls to allow more rotation? Could the bars be the wrong part (seems unlikely)? Few pics to illustrate the problem... Notice the bars don't line up with the forks which just seems off. Any ideas? Thanks!

Bump & update...
Spoke to the service manager, he confirmed that there are pins where the bars mount to prevent them from being rotated forward and hitting the fairing, and also in the hand control clamps to prevent rotation that would crimp the internally routed wires. Tomorrow he's going to remove the pins in the hand control clamps and see if we can get the controls a little more level. Hopefully a happy outcome.

I have a 2020 FLTRK, rotated the stock bars forward. Of course had to remove the pin near the handlebar clamp, on the handlebars (R&L), and the control housing. Not a huge deal, but certainly annoying that they manufactured it this way. I did need to loosen the brake banjo bolt coming out of the master cylinder in order to change the angle that the cable was coming out, but no big deal.

Update: dealer removed the pin at the bar clamp and rotated forward a small amount. Bars are just about parallel to the forks and the controls are much better. Just damned irregular that these bars should fit this way, obviously nobody at the MoCo tested these! Anyhow, all good and rolling again. P.S. I did eventually find really good info about these limiting pins here, once I knew what I was looking for

The pins in each of the right and left control assemblies can be sheared off pretty easily... well, one of them shears off easily. Had to grind off the other pin when attempting to shear it off, leaving a large bump.
That way you have total adjustability.
