Default Mother nature tried to take me out

Got on the bike yesterday to take a ride around Lake Mead, as I was cruzin along the highway heading into Boulder City I got pelted by a swarm of bees.
My first thought was someone in the car in front of me threw up out of the window and I rode right thru it thinking oh hell no. So being 5 minutes from home I decided to turn around and head back to the house. Pulled in the driveway and snapped some pics.

Nice. I’ve had that happen a few times. Last time I got stung between the eyes. It went right in between my half helmet and sunglasses. My eyes swelled half shut. Good times. Right now the butterflies are out splattering yellow everywhere.

One of my big fears, considering I'm allergic to bees.

I had a hornet go inside of my shirt, that’s when I learned that they can sting you more than once, another time I was riding through Maryland on my way down to DC for the Rolling Thunder run and there happen to be a 17 year cicada hatch, they hurt when your doing 80.

Times like that make you thankful you are riding behind a fairing.

Yes very thankful. They all went over the windshield, I felt them bouncing off my helmet......Damn lucky I didn't get stung, if i did I would have swelled up being allergic to bees. My left pant leg was covered with guts as well.

Hah! Been there with you. I had a wasp pop into my helmet just as I pulled out from the main gate of an AF base in California. My shield to my helmet was up and I had just "snapped" it closed by shaking my head down...no panic as it crawled across my cheek. Got up to speed and then lifted my shield as I turned my head and thankfully it was blown out.

Slight panic but man, it would have been bad if that SOB stung me on the highway!
