Hey folks,

I have a '20 FLHRXS and I'm looking to de-chrome the tank as much as possible, so that means a black fuel gauge and cap. What I'm really after is a gloss-black version of the stock gauge, but since that doesn't exist, I'm looking at the Flush Mount kit from HD - 75027-08D. For some reason, HD lists this as compatible with the 17, 18, and 19 FLHRXS but not the '20. I called and talked to someone in Parts, and they basically said they think it will work with the '20 but it's not "certified". Worst case, I can just return it if it doesn't work, but I was wondering if anybody has installed this gauge on a '20?

As a side note, if anyone knows where or how to get a gloss black version of the factory gauge housing, please give a shout...

I painted my cap and fuel gauge.

 

Looks GREAT! did you take the “guts” out of the fuel gauge housing to paint it? Or just mask it? What kind of paint?

 

Be damned if I could get the guts out of the fuel gauge so I masked it off. I painted the caps with base coat clear coat rattle cans. In fact I painted the whole bike with rattle cans.
