Default PSA: Push start in 2nd gear

I hope this helps someone sometime .. but I had to push start my bike this weekend. Fortunately I was pointed down hill with a bit of a run and had someone willing to help push.

After 2 failed attempts in 1st with the rear tire skidding. 2nd gear attempt worked like a charm.

EDIT: Bike is a 2016 Street Glide - fuel injected. (Since the signature doesn't show in the mobile version.)

The battery wasn't totally dead, but wouldn't turn the starter over.

Yeah, typically the lowest gears won't work well for push starts. You want a bit higher gear to allow the engine to turn over less abruptly when you pop the clutch.

Glad you were able to start the bike that way- I've not had to do that yet.
