Take your own lube or they will add it in to dealer prep !!!
ORIGINAL: bobros
Make it easy on yourself. If you're gonna trade,go to the showroom and bend over the bike you want. The dealer will take it from there.

RE: tried to trade today
I have an 05 fatboy with 33k miles on it. A year ago i put $3k plus in engine work on it. I stopped by the dealership the other night and there was a brand new 07 heritage with a custom harley black with blue ghost flame paint job. I was enamoured. I had to have this heritage or i would go crazy. A day passed by and its all i could think about. Finally got the courage to take my bike in for an estimate. They offered $13k for mine on trade. Damn, i just couldnt come to terms with that offer (although its a fair amount). I feel like i would be giving away the engine work for free. So i did what i had to do, and bought a custom paint set off ebay for my Fatboy. Will post pics when i get the new tins installed.

RE: tried to trade today
It is true... the 07 on up is going to command more resale value and drop the older machines drastically. The large dealers will still discount new and those wishing to sell have to evaluate a current selling price that will be in line with demand. I can't believe some ads on 03-05 bikes priced in the 16 - 19k range. What are they thinking ???? Wonder if they know the word depreciation ?
