RE: I'm hurting, friend killed today on his new Harley
You will be in our prayers and especially Tina for her tragic loss. May the Lord bring you and others peace and draw you closer together for healing in William's passing.
As someone who came within an inch of losing my life 2 years ago, your question is something I often think about when riding. The streets are getting so much busier and populated....the driversplace very little attention to the priority of driving....and there are more distractions than ever. Still I ride. It's what I choose to do. After my big accident I took out a life insurance policy on myself to cover my family's needs in the event the next time I wasn't that luckyand didn't survive. Nobody likes to think aboutit, but I do think it's important to be prepared for "what if" scenarios.
As for your friend William, let him be remembered for doing the thing that he enjoyed. The love and freedom of riding....his journey continuingas he rides in to eternity. I'm available if you would like to talk. Send me a PM and we can chat by phone or email, whichever you prefer. You're in my prayers.

Sorry to here about you friend, I ask myself the same question sometimes. It is usually when I hear of such a accedent as you described. I know that I can't live my life in a bubble, if you can't live like you want, then whats life for. Keep the shiney side up, and roll that throttle on.

Hack,
Sorry to here about your loss. I have had many of the same thoughts. My
youngest brother was left paralized on 11/27/2006 after a cager pulled
out on him on the way to have some work done on his bike. It has been
a very difficult few months for our whole family. He also has two young
children. Many of my other brothers and cousins continue to ride inspite
of what happened. Yes, sometimes I think we are all nutz. I am hooked
in riding and best of all with the support of my brother. I will pray for the
family of your friend.

heaven, he'll be able to dance aqnd I'll be dancing right along with him.
I hope he is doing better than expected.

Not meaning to go on a tangent but I think riding a bike is more than a hobby and I trust you'll agree. Its a way to maintain our sanity and for some of us it's a way of life.
After my brother commited suicide I went into a shell. What brought me out of it was my getting on a motorcycle and running through the mountains and realizing just how great God is (to me) if he can create such majestic vistas.
I feel for this guy that lost his friend. He must keep riding and enjoying the beauty of nature and in honor of who his dear friend was.

Sorry for your loss. May he R.I.P. And may Peace be with his family.I will pray for them. That must have been horrible for them to witness it. Sorry to hear about another brother lost. Its a very dangerous hobby. All we can do is ride safe and hope it's not our turn to go. Peace

RE: I'm hurting, friend killed today on his new Harley
Sorry about your loss, Same thing happened to me last year. My best friend was riding his new Ultra to work and had an accident. car stopped in front of him and he didn't see it. Tried to lay it down, went over the bike and was subsequently hit in the head by the bike. He was wearing an approved helmet before any one asks. Never regained consciuosness. two days later he finally passed and 8 lucky people are walking the planet because he was a donor. He was the type of guy that would give you his coat in a blizzard. Asked my wife if she wanted me to get rid of the bike, and she said no, and Bear wouldn't have wanted that either. Trust me when I say I know what you are going through. You never know how much time you have so make the most of it. Remember all the good times. Prayers to you and his family.
