For the OP, with the current system, the air/fuel ratio will remain at factory settings UNTIL the flow change demands a bigger adjustment than allowed in the ECM, that will trigger the check engine light. Whether the pipes turn blue is a different question.
For the guy going to 10,000 feet, there is less air up there. not more. If your mixture goes out of spec, it will be too rich, not too lean.
