Default 2011 - 2013 touring bikes

Interested in thoughts on HD's touring bikes for 2011 - 2013. Did HD get it right for these years? Any chronic problems that came up? I know these years had the cam chain tensioners fixed and I assume the compensator problem was fixed. Input from owners or those in the know is appreciated. I am a year away from a purchase, but weighing the cost of new versus used, Harley versus other brands.

42K on my 13 RGU with no issues. Last year that the electrical system is wired instead of BCM controlled so for me they are easier to work on and modify at home. Have no desire for a newer RG, I will rebuild this one if the time ever comes.

Got rid of my 2011 Road Glide ultra. In hind sight I wish I would have kept it. It did run fairly hot. It was a better cool weather bike than a hot weather bike. I just have not bonded with the 2018 Road Glide yet. If It doesn't happen by the time new frame comes out it will probably be traded in. Sorry to get off subject. If you find a 2009 and up RG you like for a good price buy it. Mine was a good, reliable bike.

45k on mine. Replace the stator/rotor and compensator with Cycle Electric. Replaced the compensator with a Baker 10,000 miles ago. Last but not least I had a belt go out on me (first time that's happened), replaced the front and rear belt sprockets the same time. Did all the work myself so no shop work to add to the cost. Other than those things it's been great.

Great machines. I would not hesitate. They are Harleys after all and you are up to date with the problems it seems. I own one

I may be wrong, just going my memory, but believe the main issues with those years was the compensator and bike randomly going into limp home mode.

pretty sure all that was addressed with warranty or recalls.
