Default Internal wiring for handlebars?

So I saw this bike in a magazine. Anyone do anything similar? How hard is it to accomplish? Anyone know what controls they are? Any negatives to doing this?Ryan

It does look good. In general handle bar's are weak point. Look jap. Everything else is focused on cosmetics.

Plenty of members have installed tall bars with internal wiring, it seems to be fairly common. A negative to internal wiring is that we get a steady trickle of members asking how to sort out electrical problems, due to them getting it wrong in some way!

High bars like that will probably require longer wiring than stock, which can be overcome either by buying wire extensions or a fresh set of longer wires. Feeding the wires through the bars seems to be a hazard, but some brands can supply their bars with wiring pre-installed, to overcome that challenge.

Mine are not tall. 80k miles. But if something goes wrong it's going to be tough to fix.

Perhaps I misunderstood the OP, I guess his question was regarding opinions on internally wiring handlebars. I thought his question was regarding opinions on those fugly bars/controls that he posted. As for internally wired bars, they look clean. My road glide came from the factory internally wired.

I was just wondering about putting the wires internally. Not necessarily those style of bars, I have Carlini apes on my bike now Thanks for all the replies

If you have a canbus bike and bigger than the OEM 1" diameter bars, it's quite easy.....

And you don't have to disassemble wiring connectors to feed the wires.... that seems to be one of the biggest source of issues with the pre-canbus wiring problems, as people seem to reassemble the wire connectors improperly...

I did my 2016 Ultra Classic with 1.25" bars.... It was pretty easy... the small wire connectors that attach to the switchpaks, go through the bars pretty easy...

NOTE: My bars were rounded bends, not the "Z" type bends in the bars you showed... I would suspect the more drastic the bend(s), it could make the wire feeding a little more difficult...
