Another option, unless you can't do without it, is to remove the heel shifter altogether.

Longer by about 2 inches, bolts right up, weighs about twice as much as the the stock lever, not sure I'm going to use it, worried about shift shaft wear.

I replaced the front and back along with the matching linkage. you can get it from Baker Customs Chrome or black and a few different stiles.

I like that idea.

I've been looking for something subtle like this for years. Thanks.

I have one, 1lb 3oz. but it feels heavier than that. I tried it but I wasn’t comfortable with the weight of it so I took it off.
I’m going to try the suggestion SNDSLGR posted.

Another reason I like this idea is because the splines on the shifter shaft are very weak and have a reputation of failing because of the heavy shifting of the riders heel. Riders who take the rear shifter off don't typically have the failure because they are upshifting with their toe. Maybe SNDSLGR's shift peg will force riders to use a lighter touch with their heel.

^^^^ I was also concerned about the extra leverage the longer shifter gave.

My RK was the first bike I had with foot boards and thought I really needed the room for my size 13 boot, but after I took the long shifter off it hasn’t really been an issue now that I’m use to the standard shifter levers.
