I have ridden on this seat about 75 miles. Mine is being modified a little bit to fit me better. The seat feels much better then the stock seat. I use Dane as my contact and he told me HE would work with people from this site on the price if interested, call him at( 904)354-4531.
I dont know about anyone else who has the cvo seat but for me it is hands down the best HD seat I have ever had. I dont sit on the bike I sit down in the bike.
I ordered the Sargent short reach (18") solo today for my 2008 Road King (which I think will be same length as stock). The Sargent website says these seats are '08 and up in a couple of places and '09 and up in a couple of places. Bit confusing, but I look forward to finding out. Very nice and easy to work with people over the phone. I'll report back as to whether it fits an '08 as well as thoughts on the seat itself soon.
I ordered the regular seat today, Dane knocked off a good chunk of the price. He was very helpful too. I'll know next week and said if there's any problem he would refund 100% in 30 days. He said to let people know about discounts going on for Harley touring riders.
I am glad this seat is getting some attention. Also glad Dane took care of you on your purchase and I think you will be pleased with the seat. Please post a update after get some riding miles on it.
Any feedback from those who had purchased this seat? A few pictures perhaps?
I got mine in a week or so ago. I've put about 300 miles on it (200+ in one day/ride). A few things: It DOES fit a 2008 model year Road King. On their site, in some places it reads "09-up", while in other spots, it reads "08-up". I have a 2008 Road King FLHR. Fitment was no issue. Bolted right up to my '08. I don't know what the '09 frame change did regarding seat position on these bikes. I ordered the standard reach 18" (SHD-1913F-80). My RK has/had the stock HD two-up saddle and stock handlebars. Although the Sargent seat bolted right up, I did notice that it sits me back an inch or so compared to the stock HD 2-up. As is, to fit in the pocket of the seat, I feel like I'm giving up some control at the bars/levers. So, I found myself scooting up at stops or in ride situations that demanded full control. I spoke with Dane at Sargent (super nice, easy to talk to/work with) a bit about it. For me, using with the stock bars, I feel like the whole seat needs to move about 1" forward. FYI: I'm 6"...more torso than leg. My thoughts for me: I've given thought to ways I could safely move the whole seat forward a bit. Not sure yet. I'm also thinking of switching out the stock bars to Heritage Style bars or something with a bit more height and pullback. If so, I think I'll be right where I need to be regarding seating position. My thoughts for others: I think this seat is going to fit almost everyone else perfectly right off the bat, as most have already changed their bars or have longer legs than me etc... The seat itself is really well made, looks great on the bike and feels comfortable/firm (for no longer than I've had it). So far, big thumbs up. 80SHD-1913F-
Crap, did not want to hear that, I just changed my bars and I'm shorter than you, mine is supposed to be here today. I was told it was closer if anything than the stock seat.
@UFOFU can you take a picture from the top of the seat, with a tape measure pulled from the nose across the top back edge of the bucket? Is it really 18"?
Again, as I posted earlier, 18" is back farther than any stock seat. It's about 1" back from a Street Glide seat, and probably 1.5" or so for the others. 14", to me, would be a "reduced reach" seat.
But as a tall lanky bastard, you won't hear any complaints from me
