Default Quick safety lesson on tire pressure...

I know... I'm a pain in the ****... however after reading through the board I finally went down and checked the pressure on my tires... I was running at 31psi front and down to 30psi rear! Holy crap! I have learned my lesson and will be checking much more frequently.

I am at 1,800 miles on the bike and to be honest I never checked the psi after I got it back from the 1K service.

I just ran down to Sears and for $99 bucks picked up a nice little 3 gallon air compressor for the garage for convenience. Now I can check em & fill em without having to stop at a gas station somewhere.

A couple of local folks were killed last year coming back from Sturgis 2-up when their rear tire blew out doing 70mph on the highway.

I consider this lesson a good one as I didn't have to bleed any before I learned it.

Yeah, tire pressure is pretty important! I check at least every other ride when I ride solo, always visual, and ALWAYS when my daughter is riding with me. I don't see a lot of loss between rides, but in past before I got somewhat **** about it, I checked and discovered 31-32 psi. Correct pressure helps you keep the tires longer too!

Ride safe.

I run 32 front and 35 rear and it makes most of the unstable wobble go away.

Also need to check tire pressures after any seasonal temperture changes. Time of the year affects your tire pressures on any vehicle.

And if you got the Air compressor like the one I got from sears, you need to replaces that cheep little 1/4" yellow coil hose that came with it with a 3/8" hose. The little 1/4" hose you can't get any volume through it and it takes for ever to air up a tire..

It only take a few seconds to ck tire pressure. This applies to cars/trucks too. It will make em last longer. Don't learn your lesson on tire pressure the hard way!

The book says 36/36. Rear changes to 40 with passenger. Don't forget to check adjustable rear shocks also. Owner's manual has recommends based on weight.
