Also need to check tire pressures after any seasonal temperture changes. Time of the year affects your tire pressures on any vehicle.
And if you got the Air compressor like the one I got from sears, you need to replaces that cheep little 1/4" yellow coil hose that came with it with a 3/8" hose. The little 1/4" hose you can't get any volume through it and it takes for ever to air up a tire..

I know... I'm a pain in the ****... however after reading through the board I finally went down and checked the pressure on my tires... I was running at 31psi front and down to 30psi rear! Holy crap! I have learned my lesson and will be checking much more frequently.
I am at 1,800 miles on the bike and to be honest I never checked the psi after I got it back from the 1K service.
I just ran down to Sears and for $99 bucks picked up a nice little 3 gallon air compressor for the garage for convenience. Now I can check em & fill em without having to stop at a gas station somewhere.
A couple of local folks were killed last year coming back from Sturgis 2-up when their rear tire blew out doing 70mph on the highway.
I consider this lesson a good one as I didn't have to bleed any before I learned it.

The first cool morning after a warm day or twowill usually make a big diff in your PSI.
Drops pretty quick going from warm to cool weather.

To check for proper tire pressure I curl the toes of my right foot inside my boot and kick the tire hard enough to kick a 1" stone 10' across level asphalt. I know how much feedback I should get from my big toe nail and how much my boot bounces back. With a little practice the method is good within three psi.
I don't know what that is in kilogrammmes per atmosphier.
