That's cool but I might have tried slowly heating the plastic and then pressed something into it into it to stretch it to form, kinda like shaping kydex.

 

You'll want to seal that soon morethan later. The fine road dust that's going to get in there will ruin your screen and be impossible to get out.

I didn't either. I guess I still kind of don't get it. This cubby vs. a just a regular phone holder?

I have a Pixel myself. I just bought a leather phone holder that goes on my belt. Phone is secure, handy, and I don't have to put it in and take it out of some spot on my fairing. It goes where I go without even thinking about it. Less than ten bucks and I didn't have to hack up my inner fairing, but hey, whatever works for ya. Just seems like a complicated solution for a simple problem.

 

Let me tell you a secret you didn’t know (obviously) before embarking on this radical approach. Take the fricken foam out of the box.....that thing is worthless and makes it impossible for ANY phone to fit.

Get a small piece of foam to place in the box with your phone to prevent it from rattling around in there. When you put your phone in, move the usb wire to one side and slide the phone in along the left wall. iPhone 8 fits beautifully. Nothing will make the big phones fit.

 

If you have a case on your Pixel 3XL it still won't fit.

That is correct. It still didn't fit. I didn't try .. but I feel like it would have taken more than removing the case to not fit.

One other thing to note ... Cool kids use Android!
