Question for those with apes or taller bars
To catch you all up a little bit ... I bought a bike about a month ago which is my first Harley. It's a 2016 SG. Thanks in part to some of the fellow members I've replaced the radio with Nav and the unknown slip-on's with a true dual Rinehart setup. I've also added a passenger back rest and luggage rack. It came with those slip-ons and a taller bars.
My question comes about the bars. The wife and I clocked about 100 miles today but got drove home sooner than planed due to wind and the weather cooling off. I've considered this before, but not enough to research, but with the cold and my muscles drawing up, I think it's about time.
Is there any ill effect to rolling the bars back a little to bring them closer? I'll attach some pics in the following post for reference.
Also .. can anyone identify the bars so I know what I'm working with?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience and wisdom with me.

You will have to verify clearence between bars and console when the HB's are turnedto full lock. Think you will find there is not much room to roll them back, if any at all.
I'm also searching for bars that are more like stock but will bring my hands up and back some. I've already have the H-D Reach bars installed and they are OK, but would like the grips up an inch or so more and back toward me a bit more. Doesnt seem to be anything between the Reach bars and Ape hangers like what you have.
You might find a more stock HB is more comfortable than those Apes. Sit on some bikes at you dealer and see if that may be the case.
Some guys like them high, others like them low...I'm somewhere in between but cant find that perfect combination.

I have found the best setup for me is to have the rise portion of the bars as parallel to the forks as possible. This is how I have always setup my bikes. Usually moving bars back also brings them lower and affects handling with an angle away from the forks. Having said all that, the bars on my Road King came setup a little further back than I would have set them and it is very comfortable and handles just fine. A solution to the lower problem of pulling bars back is to add risers first.

Thank you all for the comments thus far! Good call on the Factory 47! I think you nailed that one.
702, I'm 5'7" ish, 30" inseam, and I *think* I have the tallboy Harley seat on. That was a request from my wife over the factory seat after looking at the width of the rear seat. I / we didn't realize at the time it was the tallboy seat though.
I may be wrong on the seat too, but I'm pretty sure it is.
