Default Tour pack detach kit

I am wanting to install a detach kit on my 18 RGU, however I do not want to install the large saddle bag lights that comes with the kit. I want to install the smaller Custom dynamics bag lights. My question is can I buy the parts separate? If so do I still need the Harley wiring harness that comes with the kit? Where can I get a parts list of what is in the kit? Thanks for any help..

It is cheaper to buy the kit... then sell the lights you don't like and buy the ones you do. Originally when I did the detach kit I got my dealer to credit the $199 (retail) for those bags lights and apply it towards the HD Keystone Electra-Glo's I wanted, which were $299 (retail)... But if I were to do it over, I'd just sell the bag lights from the kit and buy the CD ProBEAM Fillerz... I think they're better looking, 2/3 the price ($199) as the HD ones, and brighter. My dealer sells and stocks CD, if yours does too you might be able to get them to swap them out (I just did not think of it 3 yrs ago when I did mine). I did the same thing with the antenna relocate kit that was in the "kit", and went with a hidden one for the AM/FM.

The kit includes the lights, connectors, docking points and TP mount. If you don't want to use the lights, and are electrically inclined, you could probably buy suitable connectors on amazon to do the wiring. I have a used rack in the classifieds that includes the 4pt docking hardware and the mount. Or you could do what I do and just use the stock mount. 4 bolts and the TP is off. It wasn't much faster using the QD.
