hey guys I just got a new to me 2018 street glide special in the sexy shade of twisted cherry and there's a ton of black all over the engine and wanna brighten it up a little....

I have been looking for some touring specials with the blacked out engines with some chrome exhaust or some chrome accessories but can't seem to find anything

anyone with a set of chrome head pipes and exhaust on a newer touring special?

 

I haven’t seen many either. Most of us bought blacked bike because of the blacked out parts and not wanting chrome.

 

i like a little contrast so I did that. put chrome wheels, exhaust, horn cover, and shift linkage on. I think a little goes a long way. plus the chrome wheels just really look awesome against the high gloss vivid black bike.

 

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe not chrome. I was thinking some silver or gunmetal powdercoat on the wheels, and a few other select items.

I mean, it already has chrome kickstand!

I never understood that.

 

Serious question,,, is the blacked out fad going away like the big front wheel fad?

 

If its going away someone needs to tell the MoCo. 2020 bikes have a ton of blacked out bikes - specials, plus the black option on paint, etc.

I love my Scorched Orange/black option, first blacked out bike for me, but that probably means its on its way out.

 

I have alot of chrome, it's a pita to clean and polish...black bikes just hose em off and ride.

I have attemted to replace every bit of chrome or bright work on my '19 SGS, even the grills on the front caliperrs. I still have a chrome kick stand and Ignition switch. I would like to get the stand powder coated, but not sure I can do anything about the ignition switch.
