Take-offs are a gold mine for this sort of thing.

Maybe get the kit that will push them out a couple inches. Might reduce the pull?

I think I tend to push them to the side and make them wear out faster.
I can't get takeoffs because mine are not the stock style. I don't think you can take the rubber out of one and put them into others.

Here is a photo. Looks like the previous owner tried to half assed fix it. I'll glue it properly and of it doesn't work I'll replace it. Looks like the rubber is not replaceable. You have to buy the whole insert.

Yep- same **** happened to both of my Road Kings. Good luck fixing it, but realistically I think you're going to have to plop down some $$ for a new set of inserts. Those look like theyre pretty much roached.

IMHO rubber does not "glue" well. Vulcanizing is the only thing that I know to work but that part there does take a lot of stress.
Looks like the previous owner used polyurethane glue. That's not going to hold.

I used Shoe Goo on it. That stuff is unbelievable. I think it is stronger than the rubber and seems to be working great. If it comes apart again I will replace. It seems real strong though. I'll let you all know if it doesn't work.
