hydraulic cam tesnioners vs stock noise
Has anyone noticed a difference in less overall engine noise when going to the new hydraulic cam tensioners and upgraded oil pump vrs stock tensioners? I put new stock tensioners in 10k ago but have always wished I had done the upgrade conversion with the new cam plate and high flow oil pump. I may bite the bullet and go the upgrade even though I may not need it for that reason alone. Ya it costs but the inherent noise from these twin cams drive me crazy. I have had my bike next to two identical 03 road kings and they are a lot quieter than mine . Im using spectro 25-60 dino and have done the rocker box inserts as well as new SE lifters. Cams are S&S 510 chain cams. Stock cams and lifters prior made the exact same noises.

You could spend thousands and it could end up sounding exactly the same. Its an air cooled pushrod motor that you're basically sitting on top of. If you think your's is noisy come take a listen to my 110...youd swear there were some nuts and bolts rolling around in there. As long as you're getting enough oil up top save your money for gas, beer and chicken wings.
