Here's the problem, there is no one tire that will be the best at everything. No matter what you end up selecting, there will be some sort of compromise. Tires that last longer usually have a harder tread, and tend to be less grippy. Grippy tires don't last as long, but may have a softer or quieter ride. Tires that perform better in the rain tend to have a shorter lifespan. More expensive and brand name tires may perform better, but not always. I live in South Florida, so for me, I went with American Elites. I would rather sacrifice a bit of longevity for a tread that will do better to keep me upright in the rain. If your scoot never sees a drop, then it should be a lower priority for you. Check out the reviews, then settle on one or two that best fits your riding style, then search around for the best price. Don't try to squeeze every last mile out of them either, new tires are much cheaper then skin grafting.

about tire pressure recommendation. its not what the tire says on the sidewall. your s'posed to run what it says on the frame label and/or in your owners manual.

with the ae, you aren't sacrificing any longevity. i've had 2 sets of them, and have gotten over 20,000 miles on each set.

If you can wait til January, the Commander III's will be available. Check out: motorcycletirepromo.com

I'm not an expert about tires so not recommending these. Just saw these at Destination Daytona this morning.

Default Tires

Avon Cobras, great grip and handling not effected by tar snakes, iron decking. Nice quiet comfortable ride. They may not last as long as some other harder compounds out there, but at 9-10k I always buy a new set of tires anyway.

I'm definitely checking these out. I've been pretty happy with my C2s, but they'll be due for replacement soon.
