Vivid Black Paint Question
#11
I don't know about number of toners, but I believe guy I spoke with at paint shop was referring to a 3 tier, base coat/top coat/clear coat scenario where I'd need to buy all three products and apply in succession to properly match factory--but this doesn't seem right, and color rite doesn't show it that way.
Hmmm, black tank w/extra filler hole for Road King?
I was considering bringing in a body part for them to match and see what comes of it...

Plus 1 on ColorRite. I painted my whole bike last winter in my garage with rattle cans
This is actually Starlight Black metallic from ColorRite. They have Vivid Black also. About 2 cans of color and clear each. get them from Amazon. about half price. Easy to paint, cut, buff by hand. After riding all summer, it still shines like new.

Black is not always "black", my 87 Alfa has a brown tint to it, my F150 ( paint code UA) is a straight black, no metal flake, but the toners are not even close to either my Alfa or my 03 EG
I have used the DBU 9850 on my 03 and it is a close enough match that you couldn't tell the difference between the fender I painted and the rest of the bike.
