I try to ride, depending on what lane the traffic is next me, the side of the lane closest to the vehicle next to me.
They can see me better in the rear view mirror, instead of being to wide out of their rear view angle.
It also gives me alot more 'buffer' to flee to if someone tries to pull into me.
I rode dirt bikes most of my life, so going over obstacles is second nature, but I'm used to having fork travel and clearance underneath.
