Just take off the shifter and the bushings and the heel and toe shifters will fit on the shaft.

Most guys (and Harley FWIW) move the toe shifter to the outer splines, and install one of many available eliminator sleeves between in and the case.
There is an 89 cent bushing that Harley uses between the toe shifter and the case on the heel/toe setup, you can double up on those in a pinch to take up the space when you ditch the heel shifter. That is what I did for my first trip until my actual sleeve came in.

5817 is the bushing number for the stock heel/toe set up, they are under a buck at your dealer
