Will one dealer fix another dealers bad work? I was on a road trip and had to stop to get the rear tire changed two hours from home. Got home and realized the balance weights flew off. I guess they didn't clean the surface before putting them on or something. I don't feel like driving all the way back to them when I have a dealer right up the road. I would call thembut they are closed today. Any experience with this?

 

Well, ya could try - but it'd be strictly a "Good Will" type of thing, since there's no warranty they could charge it off to....

If they do, ah'd toss thema 12-pack of beer (at least)!

 

did you happen to notice what weight they had put on? if you did, then you could just get some of your own, clean the wheel and stick em on....

 

I'd go with what Texas redneck said.
He's not the sharpest crayon in the box, but still would on this one.
Dealer may have done it right and they just didn't stay stuck.
I usually put a piece of duct tape over them for good measure.

surely they have a nation wide warranty dont they?? im a goodyear dealer and all my work is guaranteed 12/12

but warranty aside i take care of my customers. in the same situation if for some reason the other dealer wont back up the work i'd instruct my customer to pay for the repair and then give them an instore credit for that amount. if they balk ya might try that.

 

Good point Relli. Ah've no idea as to the dealer network in terms of tires. They may look at it as "no big deal", ah dunno. Ah jest know that ah try ta "spiff" the folks from time ta time. NEVER with cold hard $$$, but rather with tacos, drinks an' such - jest "Thanks!" kinda thangs.

 

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will give them a call and see what their reaction to my situation is. Maybe they will work something out with my local dealership. I will keep you all posted on the results.
