Intermittent prob. 06 Ultra
Intermittent problem 06 Ultra
Three different occasions my 06 Ultra has died at idle. On (2) occasions the bike was pretty warm, I pulled up to stop light and engine just died. One occasion I had just started bike and drove a few blocks and same scenario, pulled up to stop sign and it conked out.
I suspected heat and or fuel problem first time, but I don’t know. The bike seemed to run just fine otherwise. Any of you had a similar problem? Any hints on what to check? Yes I have contacted the dealer, it will be two weeks before they can look at it.

That is the same thing they did to me, two weeks. I had a similar problem and mine ended up being a loose connection to the ignition switch. If you remove your headlight, you will see 1 or 2 cables under the radio. With the bike running, jiggle these cables and see if it dies. I was told that they had problems with some of the connectors to the ignition switches. BTW, my ignition switch was replaced at the 5k service as part of a recall, I too have an 06 EG classic, you may want to check on the recall if you have not already done so. Just my 2 cents.[&:]

RE: Intermittent prob. 06 Ultra
Yes by all means request the 06A injector upgrade (should be free)
Then have a scan test done for any trouble codes.
The head heat sensor may be reading higher than what temp really is, thus shutting down the motor.
But realistically it could be a lot of things and only good step by step logical diagnosis casn find the real cause.
