Default Clutch cable

I just installed 12” ape hangers on my 97’ Ultra Classic. I got a +6” clutch cable but it seems too long. Can’t get the clutch to engage even with the adjuster open all the way and adjusting the clutch inside the primary. Will a +4” cable o the trick?

No! irregardless of length of cable if adjustment is made properly clutch should work. you would just have alot of cable length to route.

Sounds like the cable's adjusted "all the way open" pulling the cable, disengaging the clutch.

First be sure you have the correct type of cable for your bike (regarding exposed/travel length). Then be sure that the ramp and ***** are in place as they should be. Finally make sure the push rod is seated right. Now you can start over and adjust the clutch.

As mentioned, the total length won't affect clutch operation.
